Contact: Mike Knutson Do you have a business idea, but too many questions prevent you from pursuing it? MCCR’s Business Assistance program and Revolving Loan Fund can help entrepreneurs answer these questions or get you in contact with the people who can. MCCR staff can assist new or existing businesses by helping refine a business idea and assist in determining the next steps. Maybe you have an idea, but are unsure if it’s feasible. The Business Assistance program focuses on three areas through customized one-on-one sessions that can help refine a business:
Typically what happens, however, is that a person just needs a sounding board for their idea. They ask questions like: How do I find out if anyone will buy my product or service? Will more people buy my product/service if I advertise in this publication? How do I go about registering my business so that I am legal? As these and other questions are answered, the entrepreneur can organize their ideas into a plan. “The Business Assistance Program is open to anyone who wants to make an economic difference in their lives and in our community. Our vision is to develop the Miner County economy to meet the basic needs of its residents and provide economic opportunity for all ages. This program is just one piece of that vision.” Mike Knutson, MCCR Economic Development Coordinator said. Over 25 Miner County individuals have been helped through business planning, marketing and financial planning over the past year. This assistance also may involve website design and development. If financing is needed to create or expand a business, MCCR also offers financing options. The staff can assist with the preparation of financial documents and possibly partner in the lending. MCCR has an Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund designed to work with financial institutions in creating a financial package that best fits the applicant. Over $350,000 has been loaned out to 7 Miner County Residents/Businesses. MCCR maintains a policy of privacy of client information. Appointments can be set to meet your individual schedules.
