Development/Housing Director Miner County residents of all ages worked together to paint a home in Howard last weekend. Over 20 volunteers put in over 130 hours over a two-day period to scrape, prime and paint a two-story home as part of the South Dakota Housing Development Authority’s (SDHDA) Paint South Dakota Campaign. MCCR was awarded funds from SDHDA to locally purchase paint and primer. Community members and church organizations supported the project through donating food for workers. “This event really brings people together to do good work for the betterment of the community,” MCCR Housing Committee Chairperson Curt Neises said. “MCCR would like to thank all who helped make the project a success.” Statewide the SDHDA has awarded funds for the painting of 35 homes as part of the 2003 Paint South Dakota Campaign. Various volunteer community groups will complete the painting by July 13th. If you have an interest in the MCCR Housing Committee please contact Curt Neises or the MCCR office at 772-5153. |
