Hunting Promotions in Miner County will be discussed

As a result of a recent Hunting Promotions Workshop held a few weeks ago in conjunction with the Southeast South Dakota Tourism Association (SSDTA) several hunting operators have been working on a committee that has been named Miner County Pro Hunts.

The committee has decided that its first task is to create a full-color brochure to be designed and distributed by the Southeast South Dakota Tourism Association (SSDTA). At least fifteen to twenty hunting operations and businesses will need to advertise in the brochure to pay for the printing costs.

Miner County Pro Hunts plans to also look at other hunting promotion strategies and become a stand-alone formal organization. MCCR is working to help facilitate this progress toward their goal.

The brochure will be a professionally designed full-color brochure. Once printed, SSDTA will distribute the 20,000 brochures at outdoor sports shows in Omaha, Kansas City, and Sioux Falls as well as at the numerous information centers across the state. SSDTA also receives numerous requests for visitor information packets that will include the Miner County brochure.

In order to pay for the design, printing, and distribution, the group will need to sell fifteen to twenty advertisements at $140 each. For this investment, the advertisers will receive a listing in the brochure that includes their business’s name, address, phone number, website, and 3-5 lines to describe their business.

Because many types of retail and service businesses benefit from hunters, advertisements in the brochure will be open to any business that feels they would benefit from the advertisement.

In order to finalize the brochure, Miner County Pro Hunts plans to hold a meeting on Thursday July 24th at 7:00 pm at the MCCR office.
