Rural Learning Center - Reinventing Rural America

Click here to view the Rural Learning Center VideoMiner County Community Revitalization is pleased to be one of the three partner organizations behind the development of the Rural Learning Center, now under construction on Howard's Main Street.

The Center is where rural leaders from across South Dakota and the nation will gather to address issues important to small towns and their surrounding countryside, and to learn from one another.  Just as important, Miner County residents will use the Center's advanced telecommunications for medical services, business, and education.  MCCR's partners in this unique venture are Horizon Health Care and the Rural Learning Center.  While the building is new, the Rural Learning Center has been based in Howard since 2001.  Currently it is working with 38 communities across the Midwest as they develop businesses, housing and strong local leadership.Rural Learning Center

You can help. Phase one of the Center's construction is fully funded and scheduled for completion by July 2006. A capital campaign is currently raising money for phase two construction to construct a conference and hospitality center.  All contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.  Phase three construction will add a hotel, and business partnerships are being explored to make that happen.
