Home Ownership Programs

At MCCR, we are trying to make it easier for people to purchase and/or remodel homes. One of the ways we are attempting to accomplish this is through our CD Pledge Program.

CD Pledge Program: Some people experience difficulty acquiring the financing to purchase or remodel a house because they do not have the money required for the down payment and closing costs. Other people may be in a situation where they are not able to acquire a loan to remodel their house without coming up with more cash. For people in these situations, the CD Pledge Program may be a solution.

In this program, MCCR will pledge a Certificate of Deposit (CD) as part of the collateral for the loan.  With this additional collateral, it is hoped that the lending institution will be able to make the loan. You are encouraged to contact the MCCR office to see if this program is right for you.

Homebuyer Education:  One of the most common reasons reasons that individuals put off buying a home is because they think that they aren't in a position to buy. In order to help, Miner County Community Revitalization and Lutheran Social Services have teamed up to bring home buyer education classes to residents of Miner County.  These seminars give potential homebuyers the information and tools they need to proceed with their goal.  learn more >>>

Other Homeownership Programs: In addition to traditional home mortgages, there exists several other homeownership programs. South Dakota Housing Development Authority, USDA Rural Development, and US Department of Housing and Urban Development offer homeownership programs. People can learn more about these programs by contacting the MCCR Office.
